Les Ballons Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE GHHG

Against these turbid turquoise skiesA
The light and luminous balloonsB
Dip and drift like satin moonsB
Drift like silken butterfliesA
-
Reel with every windy gustC
Rise and reel like dancing girlsD
Float like strange transparent pearlsD
Fall and float like silver dustC
-
Now to the low leaves they clingE
Each with coy fantastic poseF
Each a petal of a roseF
Straining at a gossamer stringE
-
Then to the tall trees they climbG
Like thin globes of amethystH
Wandering opals keeping trystH
With the rubies of the limeG
