Le Jardin Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE

The lily's withered chalice fallsA
Around its rod of dusty goldB
And from the beech trees on the woldB
The last wood pigeon coos and callsA
-
The gaudy leonine sunflowerC
Hangs black and barren on its stalkD
And down the windy garden walkD
The dead leaves scatter hour by hourC
-
Pale privet petals white as milkE
Are blown into a snowy massF
The roses lie upon the grassF
Like little shreds of crimson silkE
