Impression Du Voyage Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCDDDEEDD

THE sea was sapphire coloured and the skyA
Burned like a heated opal through the airB
We hoisted sail the wind was blowing fairB
For the blue lands that to the eastward lieA
From the steep prow I marked with quickening eyeA
Zakynthos every olive grove and creekC
Ithaca's cliff Lycaon's snowy peakC
And all the flower strewn hills of ArcadyD
The flapping of the sail against the mastD
The ripple of the water on the sideD
The ripple of girls' laughter at the sternE
The only sounds when 'gan the West to burnE
And a red sun upon the seas to rideD
I stood upon the soil of Greece at lastD
