Her Voice Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCA DEDEEDD FGFGGFF HEHEEHH IJIJJII KLKLLKK

The wild bee reels from bough to boughA
With his furry coat and his gauzy wingB
Now in a lily cup and nowA
Setting a jacinth bell a swingB
In his wanderingB
Sit closer love it was here I trowC
I made that vowA
-
Swore that two lives should be like oneD
As long as the sea gull loved the seaE
As long as the sunflower sought the sunD
It shall be I said for eternityE
'Twixt you and meE
Dear friend those times are over and doneD
Love's web is spunD
-
Look upward where the poplar treesF
Sway and sway in the summer airG
Here in the valley never a breezeF
Scatters the thistledown but thereG
Great winds blow fairG
From the mighty murmuring mystical seasF
And the wave lashed leasF
-
Look upward where the white gull screamsH
What does it see that we do not seeE
Is that a star or the lamp that gleamsH
On some outward voyaging argosyE
Ah can it beE
We have lived our lives in a land of dreamsH
How sad it seemsH
-
Sweet there is nothing left to sayI
But this that love is never lostJ
Keen winter stabs the breasts of MayI
Whose crimson roses burst his frostJ
Ships tempest tossedJ
Will find a harbour in some bayI
And so we mayI
-
And there is nothing left to doK
But to kiss once again and partL
Nay there is nothing we should rueK
I have my beauty you your ArtL
Nay do not startL
One world was not enough for twoK
Like me and youK
