Welcome To The Nations Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCCBCB DEDEEDED FGFGGFGF

PHILADELPHIA JULYA
-
BRIGHT on the banners of lily and roseB
Lo the last sun of our century setsC
Wreathe the black cannon that scowled on our foesB
All but her friendships the nation forgetsC
All but her friends and their welcome forgetsC
These are around her but where are her foesB
Lo while the sun of her century setsC
Peace with her garlands of lily and roseB
-
Welcome a shout like the war trumpet's swellD
Wakes the wild echoes that slumber aroundE
Welcome it quivers from Liberty's bellD
Welcome the walls of her temple resoundE
Hark the gray walls of her temple resoundE
Fade the far voices o'er hillside and dellD
Welcome still whisper the echoes aroundE
Welcome I still trembles on Liberty's bellD
-
Thrones of the continents isles of the seaF
Yours are the garlands of peace we entwineG
Welcome once more to the land of the freeF
Shadowed alike by the pahn and the pineG
Softly they murmur the palm and the pineG
'Hushed is our strife in the land of the free'F
Over your children their branches entwineG
Thrones of the continents isles of the seaF
