To The Portrait Of Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJKLK MNONPQRQ STUTVWXW

Well Miss I wonder where you liveA
I wonder what s your nameB
I wonder how you came to beC
In such a stylish frameB
Perhaps you were a favorite childD
Perhaps an only oneE
Perhaps your friends were not awareF
You had your portrait doneE
-
Yet you must be a harmless soulG
I cannot think that SinH
Would care to throw his loaded diceI
With such a stake to winH
I cannot think you would provokeJ
The poet s wicked penK
Or make young women bite their lipsL
Or ruin fine young menK
-
Pray did you ever hear my loveM
Of boys that go aboutN
Who for a very trifling sumO
Will snip one s picture outN
I m not averse to red and whiteP
But all things have their placeQ
I think a profile cut in blackR
Would suit your style of faceQ
-
I love sweet features I will ownS
That I should like myselfT
To see my portrait on a wallU
Or bust upon a shelfT
But nature sometimes makes one upV
Of such sad odds and endsW
It really might be quite as wellX
Hushed up among one s friendsW
