The Two Streams Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEC GHGH IJIJ

Behold the rocky wallA
That down its sloping sidesB
Pours the swift rain drops blending as they fallA
In rushing river tidesB
Yon stream whose sources runC
Turned by a pebble's edgeD
Is Athabasca rolling toward the sunC
Through the cleft mountain ledgeD
The slender rill had strayedE
But for the slanting stoneF
To evening's ocean with the tangled braidE
Of foam flecked OregonC
-
So from the heights of WillG
Life's parting stream descendsH
And as a moment turns its slender rillG
Each widening torrent bendsH
-
From the same cradle's sideI
From the same mother's kneeJ
One to long darkness and the frozen tideI
One to the Peaceful SeaJ
