At My Fireside Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAAC DEDDDE

ALONE beneath the darkened skyA
With saddened heart and unstrung lyreB
I heap the spoils of years gone byA
And leave them with a long drawn sighA
Like drift wood brands that glimmering lieA
Before the ashes hide the fireC
-
Let not these slow declining daysD
The rosy light of dawn outlastE
Still round my lonely hearth it playsD
And gilds the east with borrowed raysD
While memory's mirrored sunset blazeD
Flames on the windows of the pastE
