A Hymn Of Peace Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BCBCCBCB ADADDADA AEAEEAEA

SUNG AT THE 'JUBILEE ' JUNEA
TO THE MUSIC OF SELLER'S 'AMERICAN HYMN'A
-
ANGEL of Peace thou hast wandered too longB
Spread thy white wings to the sunshine of loveC
Come while our voices are blended in songB
Fly to our ark like the storm beaten doveC
Fly to our ark on the wings of the doveC
Speed o'er the far sounding billows of songB
Crowned with thine olive leaf garland of loveC
Angel of Peace thou hast waited too longB
-
Joyous we meet on this altar of thineA
Mingling the gifts we have gathered for theeD
Sweet with the odors of myrtle and pineA
Breeze of the prairie and breath of the seaD
Meadow and mountain and forest and seaD
Sweet is the fragrance of myrtle and pineA
Sweeter the incense we offer to theeD
Brothers once more round this altar of thineA
-
Angels of Bethlehem answer the strainA
Hark a new birth song is filling the skyE
Loud as the storm wind that tumbles the mainA
Bid the full breath of the organ replyE
Let the loud tempest of voices replyE
Roll its long surge like the earth shaking mainA
Swell the vast song till it mounts to the skyE
Angels of Bethlehem echo the strainA
