The distant climate and the savage shore | A |
When wise Astronomers to India steer | B |
And quit for Venus many a brighter here | C |

Forsake the fair and patiently go simpling | D |
When every bosom swells with wond'rous scenes | E |
Priests cannibals and hoity toity queens | E |
Our bard into the general spirit enters | F |
And fits his little frigate for adventures | F |
With Scythian stores and trinkets deeply laden | G |
He this way steers his course in hopes of trading | D |
Yet ere he lands he 'as ordered me before | A |
To make an observation on the shore | A |
Where are we driven our reck'ning sure is lost | H |
This seems a barren and a dangerous coast | I |

Good Savages our Captain craves assistance | F |
