Rhyme Scheme: AB CCD EEFFFFGCC

ADDRESSED TO THE GENTLEMEN REFLECTED ON IN THE ROSCIADA
A POEM BY THE AUTHORB
-
Worried with debts and past all hopes of bailC
His pen he prostitutes t' avoid a gaolC
ROSCOMD
-
-
LET not the 'hungry' Bavius' angry strokeE
Awake resentment or your rage provokeE
But pitying his distress let virtue shineF
And giving each your bounty 'let him dine'F
For thus retain'd as learned counsel canF
Each case however bad he'll new japanF
And by a quick transition plainly showG
'Twas no defect of yours but 'pocket low'C
That caused his 'putrid kennel' to o'erflowC
