StormbringerA
-
Upon the roots of Yggdrasil so deepB
Grimnir walked where silent watchers sleepB
His eyes two stars in a vast and knowing nightC
Saw truths not found in mortal lightC
-
A shadowed form beside him bound to strifeD
Stormbringer weary of a violent lifeD
Her shoulders bowed beneath a heavy skyE
She watched the endless seasons wander byE
-
The runes have shown the path Grimnir said lowF
Not fate but choices for the seeds you sowG
I saw the harbor where your heart may restH
If you can calm the storm within your breastH
-
The companion sighed a wind in leafless treesI
And spoke of gallows wounds and troubled seasI
But Grimnir knowing what the seeker needsJ
Planted silence waiting for the seedsJ
-
The gods themselves have struggled fought and bledK
To learn the wisdom hidden in the threadK
You bear the fury of a warrior's soulL
But peace not war will someday make you wholeL
-
Then Grimnir with a knowing distant gazeM
Left Stormbringer to her winding mazeM
And in the quiet by the ancient rootN
A silent promise began to take its shootN

Poet's note: It shows the troubled life of a female warrior, who has lost her way through battle and her mental state. It's written for a friend. I wanted to express her struggles and hopeful salvation. For myself the poem means hope.
