Misfortune Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEDD FFGG HIJK

Little children full of hopeA
Future so bright and so dopeA
Dreams and ambitions spilling outB
Never were we in doubtB
-
Let s spend our youthful age having funC
Our elders probably missed that oneC
Let s party all night we ll payD
There is still time we always sayD
-
Forgetting the adage which makes sense now and thenE
Time slips away like grains of sand never to return againE
Time is a circus always packing up and moving awayD
And ours is gone without a delayD
-
Now the night is gone and morning is comeF
Where we all sit and make a sumF
Casting our minds back to the pastG
Realizing how our youthful age went fastG
-
Now the future is smiling at usH
And we have to face the realitiesI
Alas Lost time can never be regainedJ
And we are stuck with sweet painK
