Lion In An Iron Cage Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEDFG DHIJKLMNOPFG NQRR

Look at the lion in the iron cageA
look deep into his eyesB
like two naked steel daggersC
they sparkle with angerD
But he never loses his dignityE
although his angerD
comes and goesF
goes and comesG
-
You couldn't find a place for a collarD
round his thick furry maneH
Although the scars of a whipI
still burn on his yellow backJ
his long legsK
stretch and endL
in the shape of two copper clawsM
The hairs on his mane rise one by oneN
around his proud headO
His hatredP
comes and goesF
goes and comesG
-
The shadow of my brother on the wall of the dungeonN
movesQ
up and downR
up and downR
