A Sad State Of Freedom Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEF GHAIJDK LMJNO NHDPJQ RSMTUV WWXJNJY Y

You waste the attention of your eyesA
the glittering labour of your handsB
and knead the dough enough for dozens of loavesC
of which you'll taste not a morselD
you are free to slave for othersE
you are free to make the rich richerF
-
The moment you're bornG
they plant around youH
mills that grind liesA
lies to last you a lifetimeI
You keep thinking in your great freedomJ
a finger on your templeD
free to have a free conscienceK
-
Your head bent as if half cut from the napeL
your arms long hangingM
your saunter about in your great freedomJ
you're freeN
with the freedom of being unemployedO
-
You love your countryN
as the nearest most precious thing to youH
But one day for exampleD
they may endorse it over to AmericaP
and you too with your great freedomJ
you have the freedom to become an air baseQ
-
You may proclaim that one must liveR
not as a tool a number or a linkS
but as a human beingM
then at once they handcuff your wristsT
You are free to be arrested imprisonedU
and even hangedV
-
There's neither an iron woodenW
nor a tulle curtainW
in your lifeX
there's no need to choose freedomJ
you are freeN
But this kind of freedomJ
is a sad affair under the starsY
