The Sleet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHI

Regal the earth seems with diamonds todayA
Gemming all nature in blazing arrayA
A picture more fairy like never could beB
Than this wonderful icicle filigreeB
-
A crystallized world What a marvelous sightC
Gorgeous and grand in the March sunlightC
The frost king magician has changed the spring showersD
To turquois and topaz and sapphire bowersD
-
And what is the lesson we learn from the sleetE
As toiling life's road with wearying feetE
Upward we strive but failing so oftF
In the struggles that bear us aright and aloftF
-
'Tis this that the hard breath of winter's chill blastG
Alone can this mantle of loveliness castG
And thus our sharp winds of trial may proveH
Angels to weave us bright garments of loveI
