Jesus Intercedes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CBCBDEDE FGHGIEIE JKJALELE

Seeing he ever liveth to make intercession forA
them HebrewsB
-
-
When winding up the path of lifeC
Sometimes mid thorns sometimes mid flowersB
Oft weary of its toil and strifeC
Oft weary of its wintry hoursB
There is one thought than all more sweetD
From care my longing heart to freeE
'Tis this oh wondrous to repeatD
That Jesus intercedes for meE
-
And always when the path is steepF
I cling unto this wayside ropeG
Nothing can give so great reliefH
Nothing can give a brighter hopeG
'Tis like a stately spreading palmI
Which forms my spirit's canopyE
'Neath which I breathe the soothing balmI
That Jesus intercedes for meE
-
And when I reach the sea of deathJ
To sail its silent waters o'erK
This thought shall calm my latest breathJ
And waft me to the golden shoreA
Not only that my Savior diedL
The atoning lamb on CalvaryE
But was there ever love so wideL
Still lives and intercedes for meE
