| I ve endured the worst of cruelty | C |
| And shame that never shows | B |
| I ve taken all the outbursts | D |
| Without the chance to speak | E |
| Reduced to tiny pieces | F |
| Because someone else was weak | E |

| I ve been left alone to lick my wounds | G |
| No privacy to weep | H |
| And for the chance of happiness | I |
| My silence I must keep | H |
| It is a burden I must shoulder | J |
| And never try to share | K |
| Because when I really needed love | L |
| I found it was not there | K |
