Depression Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABAAC DDEFFE CCGCCH DDIJJI

All the striving all the failingA
To the silent Nothing sailingA
Swiftly swiftly passing byB
For the land of shadows leavingA
Where a wistful hand is weavingA
Thy still woof EternityC
-
Gloomy thoughts in me awakenD
And with fear my breast is shakenD
Thinking O thou black abyssE
All the toil and thrift of lifeF
All the struggle and the strifeF
Shall it come at last to thisE
-
With the grave shall be requitedC
Good and evil and unitedC
Ne'er to separate againG
What the light hath parted purelyC
Shall the darkness join more surelyC
Was the vict'ry won in vainH
-
O mute and infinite extensionD
O time beyond our comprehensionD
Shall thought and deed ungarnered fallI
Ev'rything dost take and slayJ
Ev'rything dost bear awayJ
Silent Nothing silent AllI
