| Foregone the might of ancient years | H |

| In exile where the wicked reign | I |
| Our courage and our pride expired | J |
| But e'en today each throbbing vein | I |
| With Asmonean blood is fired | K |

| Tho' cruel hands with mighty flail | L |
| Have threshed us yet we have not blenched | K |
| The sea of blood could naught prevail | L |
| That fire is burning still unquenched | K |

| Our fall is great our fall is real | M |
| You need but look on us to tell | N |
