If Only You Cared Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCD EFGHD IJKLD CMNLD

If only you cared for my mindA
You would never want to windA
And see what bad that has passed in meB
For humanity has never blamed a heartC
That wants to learn and let go of the pastD
-
Like a rose that wants to be wateredE
Let my mind be at peace passing throughF
If the rains fail to come by and pay a visitG
Water me with lots of love and passionH
That wants to learn and let go of the pastD
-
May the rainbow colours of loveI
Create new beginnings in a bleak futureJ
And it's colours like the sun rays bring backK
The once faded smile of sensing hopeL
That wants to learn and let go of the pastD
-
If you only cared for my heartC
Oh how this wonderful world would enrichM
Our souls in perfect peaceful placesN
Giving birth to a new ray of hopeL
That wants to learn and let go of the pastD

Poet's note: If only you cared is a poem about humanity. Caring for one another in times of need, good and bad. The poem was written at a time when things seem so hopeless and people want those who care for them to love them bringing hope. The poem has brought a Ray of sunshine into my life even after all that I have been through.
