If Only You Cared

If only you cared for my mind,
You would never want to wind,
And see what bad that has passed in me,
For humanity has never blamed a heart
That wants to learn and let go of the past.

Like a rose that wants to be watered,
Let my mind be at peace passing through,
If the rains fail to come by and pay a visit,
Water me with lots of love and passion,
That wants to learn and let go of the past.

May the rainbow colours of love,
Create new beginnings in a bleak future,
And it's colours like the sun rays bring back,
The once faded smile of sensing hope,
That wants to learn and let go of the past.

If you only cared for my heart,
Oh, how this wonderful world would enrich
Our souls in perfect peaceful places,
Giving birth to a new ray of hope,
That wants to learn and let go of the past.

Poet's note: If only you cared is a poem about humanity. Caring for one another in times of need, good and bad. The poem was written at a time when things seem so hopeless and people want those who care for them to love them bringing hope. The poem has brought a Ray of sunshine into my life even after all that I have been through.
