The Cliff Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBC BDDB

By a cliff a golden cloud once lingeredA
On his breast it slept but rising earlyB
Off it gently rushed across the pearlyB
Blue of sky a tiny thing and wingedC
-
Still a trace it left upon the stonyB
Giant's heart and plunged in thought and weepingD
Slow and tortured tears he stands there keepingD
Vigil o'er the gloomy waste and lonelyB
