In High Noon's Heat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD ECFG HEIJ KLMN OCCN

In high noon's heat in a Caucasian valleyA
I lay quite still a bullet in my breastB
The smoke still rose from my deep woundC
As drop by drop my blood flowed outD
-
I lay alone upon the valley's sandE
The mountain ledges closed in all aroundC
Sun burned their yellow peaksF
It burned me too but deep as death I sleptG
-
I dreamt I saw the shining lightsH
Of evening feasting in my homelandE
Young maids with flowers in their hairI
Spoke gaily of me 'mongst themselvesJ
-
But one maid sat apart in thoughtK
And did not enter gaily inL
Her youthful soul was caught it seemedM
Lord God knows how in some sad dreamN
-
She dreamt about a valley in the CaucasusO
She knew the corpse that lay upon the groundC
His breast was blackened by a smoking woundC
His cooling blood was flowing in a streamN
