Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEFGH IJKFLD MNOP FQMR STUVW XVGYZA2

Looking over my shoulder I could haveA
sworn there were shadows chasing meB
around that last blockC
-
I stepped quickly without hesitationD
sensing alien heels as they clamoredE
the hot pavement nervously realizing IF
had to elude this curious stranger beforeG
he obsessively thickened the plotH
-
I ran past shop windows and crowdsI
enjoying the mid day Sun yet none sawJ
that look of infinite horror on my faceK
or the nervous twitch in my eye as IF
fled same unknown force at a crazedL
full speed runD
-
I told myself to remain calm I mustM
not show fear yet how am I supposed toN
keep my senses about me when thoseO
echoing footsteps are so damn nearP
-
I quickly ducked in an alley to catch myF
breath and wipe my sweating brow yetQ
this was no time to rest at ease I mustM
continue to flee and nowR
-
Leaping to action I stumbled and couldS
not move suddenly realizing not feelingT
too well Still I sighed and submittedU
said a prayer then screamed come andV
get me you Demon from HellW
-
All I could do was wait for the end asX
his keen senses honed yet when I openedV
my eyes I shook with surprise forG
before me stood a dog I had fedY
earlier that day wagging it's tailZ
trying to follow me homeA2
