Another New Year Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCD EFBGH IJKL MNOP QDMGM RM

Another new year is knocking at myA
door as the old one casts its dustyB
memories aloft silently scatteringC
them one last time before finally settlingC
back beneath my mind's floorD
-
Don't look back people always sayE
but if you do take with you what you'veF
learned Memories if invested wiselyB
will bring you many more prosperous newG
years earnedH
-
It's hard to place people with events and thingsI
they might have said Your brain becomes overloadedJ
but make sure there's room for new knowledgeK
Leave SOME empty space in your headL
-
You're going to get older No force inM
this World can stop the Hands of TimeN
Don't worry it's only natural LiveO
for now and you'll do just fineP
-
Onward we must march across the Sands ofQ
Time Eternity beyond the horizon yourD
past always behind Don't ever walk inM
the other direction You can't get back toG
where you've already beenM
-
Just turn around gallop with a smile into theR
future and give the old Wheel of Fate a spinM
