Sonnets: Idea Xxxvi Cupid Conjured Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGH

Thou purblind boy since thou hast been so slackA
To wound her heart whose eyes have wounded meB
And suffered her to glory in my wrackA
Thus to my aid I lastly conjure theeB
By hellish Styx by which the Thund'rer swearsC
By thy fair mother's unavoided powerD
By Hecate's names by Proserpine's sad tearsC
When she was wrapt to the infernal bowerD
By thine own lov d Psyche by the firesE
Spent on thine altars flaming up to heavenF
By all true lovers' sighs vows and desiresE
By all the wounds that ever thou hast givenF
I conjure thee by all that I have namedG
To make her love or Cupid be thou damnedH
