Sonnets: Idea Xxxii To The River Ankor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFCC

Our floods' queen Thames for ships and swans is crownedA
And stately Severn for her shore is praisedB
The crystal Trent for fords and fish renownedA
And Avon's fame to Albion's cliff is raisedB
Carlegion Chester vaunts her holy DeeC
York many wonders of her Ouse can tellD
The Peak her Dove whose banks so fertile beC
And Kent will say her Medway doth excelD
Cotswold commends her Isis to the ThameE
Our northern borders boast of Tweed's fair floodF
Our western parts extol their Wilis' fameE
And the old Lea brags of the Danish bloodF
Arden's sweet Ankor let thy glory beC
That fair Idea only lives by theeC
