Sonnets: Idea Vii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDDDDEFGFHH

Love in a humour played the prodigalA
And bade my senses to a solemn feastB
Yet more to grace the company withalA
Invites my heart to be the chiefest guestC
No other drink would serve this glutton's turnD
But precious tears distilling from mine eyneD
Which with my sighs this epicure doth burnD
Quaffing carouses in this costly wineD
Where in his cups o'ercome with foul excessE
Straightways he plays a swaggering ruffian's partF
And at the banquet in his drunkennessG
Slew his dear friend my kind and truest heartF
A gentle warning friends thus may you seeH
What 'tis to keep a drunkard companyH
