Sonnet Xlvii: In Pride Of Wit Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGFHII

In pride of wit when high desire of fameA
Gave life and courage to my laboring penB
And first the sound and virtue of my nameA
Won grace and credit in the ears of menB
With those the thronged theatres that pressC
I in the circuit for the laurel stroveD
Where the full praise I freely must confessC
In heat of blood a modest mind might moveE
With shouts and claps at every little pauseF
When the proud round on every side hath rungG
Sadly I sit unmov'd with the applauseF
As though to me it nothing did belongH
No public glory vainly I pursueI
All that I seek is to eternize youI
