Sonnet Xiv: If He From Heav'n Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDEEDFGGFHH

If he from Heav'n that filch'd that living fireA
Condemn'd by Jove to endless torment beB
I greatly marvel how you still go freeB
That far beyond Prometheus did aspireC
The fire he stole although of heav'nly kindD
Which from above he craftily did takeE
Of lifeless clods us living men to makeE
He did bestow in temper of the mindD
But you broke into Heav'n's immortal storeF
Where Virtue Honor Wit and Beauty layG
Which taking thence you have escap'd awayG
Yet stand as free as e'er you did beforeF
Yet old Prometheus punish'd for his rapeH
Thus poor thieves suffer when the greater 'scapeH
