Singe wee the Rose	A
Then which no flower there growes	A
Is sweeter	B
And aptly her compare	C
With what in that is rare	C
A parallel none meeter	C

When she is robd of kisses	A

Ech place with sweetnes filling	F

By Nature richly crownd	E
With yellow	G
Of that delitious layre	C
And as pure her hayre	C
Vnto the same the fellowe	H

Fearing of harme	I
Nature that flower doth arme	I
From danger	C
The touch giues her offence	A
But with reuerence	A
Vnto her selfe a stranger	C

That redde or white	E
Or mixt the sence delyte	E

In her complexion	J
All which perfection	J
Such harmony infouldinge	K

Ere it was descided	E
Which most pure	C
Began the greeuous war	C
Of York and Lancaster	C
That did many yeeres indure	C

Conflicts as greate	E
As were in all that heate	E
I sustaine	J
By her as many harts	A
As men on either parts	A
That with her eies hath slaine	J

The first of Flora's bower	C

Soo is shee first as best	E
Though excellent the rest	E
All gracing by none graced	E
