I don't get tired of you Don't grow wearyA
of being compassionate toward meA
All this thirst equipmentB
must surely be tired of meA
the waterjar the water carrierC
-
I have a thirsty fish in meA
that can never find enoughD
of what it's thirsty forE
-
Show me the way to the oceanF
Break these half measuresG
these small containersG
-
All this fantasyA
and griefH
-
Let my house be drowned in the waveI
that rose last night in the courtyardJ
hidden in the center of my chestK
-
Joseph fell like the moon into my wellL
The harvest I expected was washed awayM
But no matterC
-
A fire has risen above my tombstone hatN
I don't want learning or dignityA
or respectabilityA
-
I want this music and this dawnO
and the warmth of your cheek against mineP
-
The grief armies assembleQ
but I'm not going with themR
-
This is how it always isS
when I finish a poemT
-
A great silence comes over meA
and I wonder why I ever thoughtU
to use languageV
