But at the last he is drawn to the KING of love | D |
However much we describe and explain love | D |
When we fall in love we are ashamed of our words | E |
Explanation by the tongue makes most things clear | F |
But love unexplained is clearer | G |
When pen hasted to write | H |
On reaching the subject of love it split in twain | I |
When the discourse touched on the matter of love | D |
Pen was broken and paper torn | J |
In explaining it Reason sticks fast as an ass in mire | K |
Naught but Love itself can explain love and lovers | L |
None but the sun can display the sun | M |
If you would see it displayed turn not away from it | N |
Shadows indeed may indicate the sun's presence | O |
But only the sun displays the light of life | P |
Shadows induce slumber like evening talks | Q |
But when the sun arises the 'moon is split asunder ' | R |
In the world there is naught so wondrous as the sun | M |
But the Sun of the soul sets not and has no yesterday | S |
Though the material sun is unique and single | T |
We can conceive similar suns like to it | N |
But the Sun of the soul beyond this firmament | N |
No like thereof is seen in concrete or abstract | N |
Where is there room in conception for His essence | O |
So that similitudes of HIM should be conceivable | T |
