To The Duke Of Wellington Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFGFHH

Because thou hast believ'd the wheels of lifeA
Stand never idle but go always roundB
Not by their hands who vex the patient groundB
Mov'd only but by genius in the strifeA
Of all its chafing torrents after thawC
Urg'd and to feed whose movement spinning sandD
The feeble sons of pleasure set their handD
And in this vision of the general lawC
Hast labour'd with the foremost hast becomeE
Laborious persevering serious firmF
For this thy track across the fretful foamG
Of vehement actions without scope or termF
Call'd History keeps a splendour due to witH
Which saw one clue to life and follow'd itH
