The Voice Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABABCD EFEFGFHH CIICCCJJCCKKLCM NOCBPCQCQ

As the kindling glancesA
Queen like and clearB
Which the bright moon lancesA
From her tranquil sphereB
At the sleepless watersA
Of a lonely mereB
On the wild whirling waves mournfully mournfullyC
Shiver and dieD
-
As the tears of sorrowE
Mothers have shedF
Prayers that tomorrowE
Shall in vain be spedF
When the flower they flow forG
Lies frozen and deadF
Fall on the throbbing brow fall on the burning breastH
Bringing no restH
-
Like bright waves that fallC
With a lifelike motionI
On the lifeless margin of the sparkling OceanI
A wild rose climbing up a mouldering wallC
A gush of sunbeams through a ruined hallC
Strains of glad music at a funeralC
So sad and with so wild a startJ
To this deep sobered heartJ
So anxiously and painfullyC
So drearily and doubtfullyC
And oh with such intolerable changeK
Of thought such contrast strangeK
O unforgotten voice thy accents comeL
Like wanderers from the world's extremityC
Unto their ancient homeM
-
In vain all all in vainN
They beat upon mine ear againO
Those melancholy tones so sweet and stillC
Those lute like tones which in the bygone yearB
Did steal into mine earP
Blew such a thrilling summons to my willC
Yet could not shake itQ
Made my tost heart its very life blood spillC
Yet could not break itQ
