Separation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD CECE EFEF

Stop Not to me at this bitter departingA
Speak of the sure consolations of TimeB
Fresh be the wound still renew'd be its smartingA
So but thy image endure in its primeB
-
But if the stedfast commandment of NatureC
Wills that remembrance should always decayD
If the lov'd form and the deep cherish'd featureC
Must when unseen from the soul fade awayD
-
Me let no half effac'd memories cumberC
Fled fled at once be all vestige of theeE
Deep be the darkness and still be the slumberC
Dead be the Past and its phantoms to meE
-
Then when we meet and thy look strays towards meE
Scanning my face and the changes wrought thereF
Who let me say is this Stranger regards meE
With the grey eyes and the lovely brown hairF
