Men Of Genius Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABC DEFDE GHCGHI JKLJKL MBCMBI

Silent the Lord of the worldA
Eyes from the heavenly heightB
Girt by his far shining trainC
Us who with banners unfurl'dA
Fight life's many chanc'd fightB
Madly below in the plainC
-
Then saith the Lord to his ownD
'See ye the battle belowE
Turmoil of death and of birthF
Too long let we them groanD
Haste arise ye and goE
Carry my peace upon earth '-
-
Gladly they rise at his callG
Gladly they take his commandH
Gladly descend to the plainC
Alas How few of them allG
Those willing servants shall standH
In their Master's presence againI
-
Some in the tumult are lostJ
Baffled bewilder'd they strayK
Some as prisoners draw breathL
Others the bravest are cross'dJ
On the height of their bold follow'd wayK
By the swift rushing missile of DeathL
-
Hardly hardly shall oneM
Come with countenance brightB
O'er the cloud wrapt perilous plainC
His Master's errand well doneM
Safe through the smoke of the fightB
Back to his Master againI
