The Witch Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEE AFGFHEE IJKJLEE

I HAVE walked a great while over the snowA
And I am not tall nor strongB
My clothes are wet and my teeth are setC
And the way was hard and longB
I have wandered over the fruitful earthD
But I never came here beforeE
Oh lift me over the threshold and let me in at the doorE
-
The cutting wind is a cruel foeA
I dare not stand in the blastF
My hands are stone and my voice a groanG
And the worst of death is pastF
I am but a little maiden stillH
My little white feet are soreE
Oh lift me over the threshold and let me in at the doorE
-
Her voice was the voice that women haveI
Who plead for their heart's desireJ
She came she came and the quivering flameK
Sunk and died in the fireJ
It never was lit again on my hearthL
Since I hurried across the floorE
To lift her over the threshold and let her in at the doorE
