To Cesario Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EBEB EDED AFAF

CESARIO thy Lyre's dulcet measureA
So sweetly so tenderly flowsB
That could my sad soul taste of pleasureA
Thy music would soften its woesB
-
But ah gentle soother where anguishC
Takes root in the grief stricken heartD
'Tis the triumph of sorrow to languishC
'Tis rapture to cherish the smartD
-
The mind where pale Mis'ry sits broodingE
Repels the soft touch of reposeB
Shrinks back when blest Reason intrudingE
The balm of mild comfort bestowsB
-
There is luxury oft in decliningE
What pity's kind motives impartD
And to bear hapless fate unrepiningE
Is the proudest delight of the heartD
-
Still still shall thy Lyre's gentle measureA
In strains of pure melody flowF
While each heart beats with exquisite pleasureA
SAVE MINE the doom'd VICTIM OF WOEF
