Stanzas Inscribed To Lady William Russell Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFFGHII

NATURE to prove her heav'n taught pow'rA
That gems the earth and paints the flow'rA
That bids the soft enchanting noteB
Steal from the LINNET'S downy throatB
That from young MAY'S ambrosial wingsC
The balmy dew of HYBLA flingsC
With partial hand each charm combin'dD
To deck THY Form and grace THY MindD
-
She gave her ROSE to tint thy cheekE
Her witching smile her blushes meekE
She bade thy ruby lips impartF
The chastest precepts of the heartF
She taught thy dulcet voice to proveG
The soothing softness of the DOVEH
While thro' each wond'rous beauty stoleI
THE PERFECT IMAGE OF THY SOULI
