Sonnet Xxxvii: When, In The Gloomy Mansion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD

When in the gloomy mansion of the deadA
This with'ring heart this faded form shall sleepB
When these fond eyes at length shall cease to weepB
And earth's cold lap receive this fev'rish headA
Envy shall turn away a tear to shedA
And Time's obliterating pinions sweepB
The spot where poets shall their vigils keepB
To mourn and wander near my freezing bedA
Then my pale ghost upon th' Elysian shoreC
Shall smile releas'd from ev'ry mortal careD
Whil doom'd love's victim to repine no moreC
My breast shall bathe in endless rapture thereD
Ah no my restless shade would still deploreC
Nor taste that bliss which Phaon did not shareD
