Sonnet Xxix: Farewell, Ye Tow'ring Cedars Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBBCDCDCD

Farewell ye tow'ring Cedars in whose shadeA
Lull'd by the Nightingale I sunk to restB
While spicy breezes hover'd o'er my breastB
To fan my cheek in deep'ning tints array'dA
While am'rous insects humming round me play'dA
Each flow'r forsook of prouder sweets in questB
Of glowing lips in humid fragrance drestB
That mock'd the Sunny Hybla's vaunted aidB
Farewell ye limpid rivers Oh farewellC
No more shall Sappho to your grots repairD
No more your white waves to her bosom swellC
Or your dank weeds entwine her floating hairD
As erst when Venus in her sparry cellC
Wept to behold a brighter goddess thereD
