Sonnet Xliv: Here Droops The Muse Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABCADEDFDE

Here droops the muse while from her glowing mindA
Celestial Sympathy with humid eyeB
Bids the light Sylph capricious Fancy flyB
Time's restless wings with transient flowr's to bindA
For now with folded arms and head inclin'dA
Reflection pours the deep and frequent sighB
O'er the dark scroll of human destinyC
Where gaudy buds and wounding thorns are twin'dA
O Sky born VIRTUE sacred is thy nameD
And though mysterious Fate with frown severeE
Oft decorates thy brows with wreaths of FameD
Bespangled o'er with sorrow's chilling tearF
Yet shalt thou more than mortal raptures claimD
The brightest planet of th' ETERNAL SPHEREE
