Sonnet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDCD EAEAEA

In early youth blithe Spring's exulting dayA
Each hour put forth new raptures to my viewB
Each sunny morn on downy pinions flewB
And swift the jocund minutes danc'd awayA
-
Ere Summer's breath matur'd my ripening mindC
I found the blissful scene begin to fadeD
Cold sorrow hover'd round with wings unkindC
And o'er my bosom spread a dreary shadeD
-
An early Winter chills my glowing breastE
Frost nipp'd too soon my fondest hopes decayA
My cheek no more with rosy graces bless'dE
Smiles with the freshness of returning MayA
So freezing gales in sunny splendours drestE
Fade the young blossoms of the infant sprayA
