Feed my lambs the Saviour saidA
Near two thousand years agoB
If we truly love the LordC
By obedience love we'll showB
-
What was said to Peter thenD
In that distant age and climeE
Sure is binding on us nowF
Here and to the end of timeE
-
If our Shepherd then we loveG
His commandments we'll obeyH
Let us true disciples proveI
Feed his lambs as best we mayH
-
Twice twelve years have passed this dayH
Since our Sabbath School commencedJ
Countless lessons have been learnedK
Much instruction been dispensedJ
-
Let us up and doing beL
Sow the seed all times and hoursM
Cast our bread on water evenN
Tax with vigor all our powersM
-
May the teachers now engagedO
Courage take and persevereP
They'll not fail of their rewardC
Though they may not meet it hereQ
-
God is faithful who hath saidA
Let the thought allay your fearsR
They with joy shall surely reapS
Who have sown in prayers and tearsT
-
Then sow the seed with prayers and tearsT
Never doubt but faithful beL
Though thou reapest not for yearsR
A rich harvest thou wilt seeL
-
Happy faces now we missU
Who were wont these seats to fillV
Loved and lovely passed awayH
Yet they're fresh in memory stillV
-
Soon their earthly race was runW
In the morning called awayH
Others soon may follow themE
May all hear the Saviour sayH
-
Well done faithful servant thouF
Hast o'er few things faithful beenN
I will make the ruler nowF
Over many enter inN
