The Gift Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE FFGH

God calls you my Daughter I hear the sweet voiceA
Of Jesus our Saviour He would make you His choiceA
To work in His vineyard to teach in His nameB
He'd give you the power lost souls to reclaimB
-
I give you my darling an offering to HimC
Who died to redeem us to save us from sinD
Be filled with His spirit be strong in the strifeE
Bring souls unto Jesus in Christ there is lifeE
-
And when all is over and we meet on the shoreF
Of Heaven's fair Jordan to part nevermoreF
With Christ ever present to soothe away tearsG
All pain we'll forget of these sorrowful yearsH
