Peace Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACAC ADADEFEF

Father before Thee I am kneelingA
In gratitude and loveB
Sad weary years I sought appealingA
For succor from aboveB
My cries seemed wild as unavailingA
Before Thy chastening rodC
My spirit in the strife oft failingA
To trust Thee O my GodC
-
When floods of sorrow o'er me sweepingA
Thy hand I could not seeD
Then Thou when heart and strength were yieldingA
Bade me to cling to theeD
Strength from Thy promise gave enduranceE
To stem to cross the floodF
I thank Thee rest in blest assuranceE
Of Jesus' cleansing bloodF
