With inauspicious damps oppress'd | B |
Where is the dread prophetic heat | C |
With which my bosom wont to beat | C |
Where all the bright mysterious dreams | D |
Of haunted groves and tuneful streams | D |
That woo'd my genius to divinest themes | D |
Say goddess can the festal board | E |
Or young Olympia's form ador'd | E |
Say can the pomp of promis'd fame | F |
Relume thy faint thy dying flame | F |

Or from amid the Elysian train | H |
The soul of Milton shall i gain | H |
To win thee back with some celestial strain | H |
O powerful strain o sacred soul | I |
His numbers every sense controul | I |
And now again my bosom burns | J |
The Muse the Muse herself returns | J |
Such on the banks of Tyne confess'd | B |
I hail'd the fair immortal guest | B |
When first she seal'd me for her own | K |
Made all her blissful treasures known | K |
And bade me swear to follow Her alone | K |
