IA
Yes you contemn the perjur'd maidB
Who all your favorite hopes betray'dB
Nor though her heart should home returnC
Her tuneful tongue it's falsehood mournD
Her winning eyes your faith imploreE
Would you her hand receive againF
Or once dissemble your disdainG
Or listen to the syren's themeH
Or stoop to love since now esteemH
And confidence and friendship is no moreE

IIA
Yet tell me Ph dria tell me whyA
When summoning your pride you tryA
To meet her looks with cool neglectI
Or cross her walk with slight respectI
For so is falsehood best repaidB
Whence do your cheeks indignant glowJ
Why is your struggling tongue so slowJ
What means that darkness on your browK
As if with all her broken vowK
You meant the fair apostate to upbraidB
